A Home Energy Performance Rating provides a standardized assessment of a home’s expected and/or actual energy use, which can be communicated through a Home Energy Performance Label.

This approach allows for a progressive increase in data confidence while maintaining scalability—enabling large-scale adoption without compromising credibility.

Dual Certification Tracks (Core Differentiation)

A. NEO Asset-Based Energy Performance (NEO-AR)

• Applies to unoccupied or standardized-use homes

• Represents modeled / intrinsic efficiency

• Equivalent to “what the home should consume”

B. NEO In-Use Energy Performance (NEO-IU)

• Applies to occupied homes

• Represents measured / behavior-influenced performance

• Equivalent to “what the home actually consumes”

Verification Classes (Data Confidence Layer)

Each rating (AR or IU) carries a verification badge:

Class 1 – AI Certified (AIC)

• AI-inferred with minimal direct input

• Scalable, rapid deployment

Class 2 – Resident Verified (RV)

• Validated by homeowner inputs, documents, or surveys

Class 3 – Professionally Verified (PV)

• Verified by certified professionals or trusted third-party data
